CVE-2024-49765Network attack vector

Unauthenticated account access via alternate login methods

Published Dec 19, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024

Authentication bypass in affected Discourse releases allows remote attackers to create local accounts and log in through enabled login methods. Discourse has not published the login route or code operation that fails to enforce Discourse Connect exclusivity. Exposure requires Discourse Connect plus another enabled login method; the resulting account bypasses the site's centralized identity policy.
