Credential disclosure via unrestricted credentialed CORS
Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Information disclosure in PlexRipper and Reaparr before 0.24.0 allows remote attackers to steal Plex login credentials via a malicious website. Startup.cs accepts every request origin while permitting credentials, allowing attacker-hosted JavaScript to read usernames and passwords from /api/PlexAccount. A user must visit an attacker-controlled domain while the browser can reach the service; the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of stored Plex credentials.
