Cross-site scripting in Code Projects Simple Chat System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through chat messages. The message handler inserts user-supplied message content into the chat page without adequate sanitization, causing an HTML event handler to execute in a participant's browser. An account and a viewed malicious message are required; successful exploitation runs script in the site's browser context and can expose session data.
