CVE-2024-49748Network attack vector

Remote code execution via unchecked zero payload size

Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 17, 2025

Heap buffer overflow in Android 12 through 15 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted Bluetooth GATT request. gatts_process_primary_service_req accepts a zero payload size after a GATT channel closes, then writes response data beyond the allocated heap buffer. No privileges or user interaction are required; exploitation requires network reachability to the Bluetooth GATT server and yields code execution in its service context.
