CVE-2024-49747

Adjacent code execution via unchecked zero payload length

Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Android 12 through 15 allows physically proximate attackers to execute code through a Bluetooth GATT request. In gatts_process_read_by_type_req in gatt_sr.cc, a closed channel can make gatt_tcb_get_payload_size return zero, but response processing still writes to the zero-length output buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required within Bluetooth range, and successful execution is bounded by Android platform and service mitigations.
