CVE-2024-49709Network attack vector

Account takeover via attacker-fixed session cookies

Published Apr 14, 2025 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Session fixation in iKSORIS Internet Starter before 79.0 allows attackers to take over user accounts through a preset session cookie. The module accepts an attacker-chosen session cookie and retains that identifier after the user authenticates instead of rotating it. Exploitation requires access to the user's browser to set the cookie, followed by the user logging in; failure to destroy old sessions extends the takeover window.
