File disclosure via external XML entity expansion
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
XXE injection in affected Siemens COMOS 10.3 and 10.4 releases allows attackers to read local or network files through crafted imports. The Generic Data Mapper, Engineering Adapter, and Engineering Interface expand external XML entities while parsing configuration and mapping files. Exploitation requires persuading a user to open the file and reveals only files whose locations are known and accessible to that user's system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
