CVE-2024-4969Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Widget state changes via missing CSRF validation

Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in Devnath Verma Widget Bundle 2.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to disable or enable widgets. The widget-management request accepts posted widget_options at the plugin's administrative page and saves them without validating a CSRF token. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML, after which the forged request changes widget activation state.
