Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted image upload
Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester SchoolWebTech 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute server-side code via the image field. At /improve/home.php?action=upload, the handler accepts an image multipart part named with a .php extension and writes it without rejecting executable content. No login is required; successful exploitation places a PHP web shell on the server and enables commands under web-server privileges.
