CVE-2024-49580Network attack vector

Response disclosure via shared authorization-cache collision

Published Oct 17, 2024 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Information disclosure in JetBrains Ktor before 2.3.13 allows remote attackers to read cached authenticated HTTP responses. HttpCache stored GET responses for requests carrying Authorization headers in a shared client's cache, allowing a later request for the same cache entry to receive another user's response. Exposure requires an application to install HttpCache, share one client among users, and process cacheable authenticated requests; the reported consequence is response disclosure only.
