Administrator account creation via unchecked form import
Published Jun 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WPEverest User Registration & Membership 3.2.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to import administrator-role forms. The import_form_action handler processes contributor-supplied form imports without a capability check and accepts administrator as the form's default registration role. Exploitation requires a contributor to import the form and an administrator to publish its shortcode; subsequent signups receive administrator accounts.
