Sandbox data disclosure via external entity resolution
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jan 23, 2025
XXE in Adobe Acrobat Reader allows attackers to read data outside the sandbox by making a victim process malicious XML. The XML parser resolves an attacker-supplied external-entity reference and accesses a resource that the Reader sandbox should restrict. Attackers must persuade a victim to process the crafted document; successful exploitation reads otherwise sandbox-restricted resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
