Arbitrary WebView content via unvalidated deep links
Published Dec 3, 2024 · Updated Dec 3, 2024
Improper URL validation in Samsung Mobile Gaming Hub before 6.1.03.4 in Korea and 7.1.02.4 globally allows remote attackers to load arbitrary URLs. The exported MainActivity accepts a browsable deep link, and GmpDeepLinkUtil passes its untrusted url parameter to GmpWebActivity, which loads it in a WebView without validating the destination. A victim must tap a crafted hyperlink; this flaw exposes attacker-controlled WebView content, while additional chained flaws are required for broader device compromise.
