Local code execution via out-of-bounds write
Published Dec 3, 2024 · Updated Dec 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in libswmfextractor.so on Samsung Mobile Devices running Android 12, 13, or 14 allows local attackers to execute arbitrary code. The library fails to apply proper validation to an undisclosed input before performing a write beyond an allocated buffer. Attack requires local device access; Samsung has not disclosed the input format, trigger path, or privileges of the resulting code execution.
