Administrator stored XSS via unescaped offset setting
Published Jun 12, 2024 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Stored XSS in Sassy Social Share before 3.3.63 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute script in visitors' browsers. The plugin stores the Right offset setting without sufficient sanitization and emits it without escaping, so a crafted value becomes executable JavaScript. Administrator-level access to plugin settings is required, including when unfiltered_html is disabled in WordPress multisite; execution occurs when a visitor loads the affected output.
