CVE-2024-49203Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Data disclosure via unvalidated JPA order-by expression

Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Feb 21, 2025

HQL injection in Querydsl JPA 5.1.0 and OpenFeign Querydsl 6.8 allows remote attackers to read data or interrupt service. PathBuilder accepts an untrusted orderBy value as a path expression, and JPAQuery serializes it into executable HQL without restricting injected syntax. Exposure requires consuming application code to pass remote input directly into query construction; the original Querydsl community disputes that the library must defend against such use.
