Remote code execution via use-after-free race
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Remote code execution in Windows Remote Desktop Services allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via network connections. A race condition leaves an object reachable after its memory is freed, allowing attacker-controlled processing to reuse the stale reference. Exploitation requires connecting to a system with the Remote Desktop Gateway role and winning a high-complexity timing race; successful code execution can compromise the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
