CVE-2024-49128Network attack vector

Remote code execution via use-after-free

Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Services allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted network traffic. The service references freed memory after storing sensitive data in improperly locked memory, but Microsoft has not disclosed the object or packet field involved. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation grants code execution in the service context.
