Unauthenticated code execution via RD Gateway race
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Services allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through an RD Gateway connection. A connection to a server with the Remote Desktop Gateway role can trigger a race condition that leaves RDS using freed memory. The Gateway role must be enabled and reachable; exploitation requires winning the race, but successful attacks run arbitrary code on the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
