System crash via malformed CLDAP referral response
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Windows LDAP on affected Windows releases allows remote attackers to crash the system through a crafted CLDAP response. Referral parsing in wldap32.dll uses an invalid CLDAP referral field without adequate bounds handling, causing LSASS to fault and Windows to reboot. The published path requires unauthenticated Netlogon RPC access, attacker-controlled DNS service records, and outbound reachability to a malicious CLDAP server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
