Unauthenticated code execution via RD Gateway race
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Server Remote Desktop Services allows remote attackers to execute code through an RD Gateway connection. A race in the RD Gateway connection path leaves sensitive shared memory improperly locked and permits access after its lifetime ends. The RD Gateway role must be present and reachable, and successful exploitation requires winning the race; code runs on the target server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
