Privilege escalation via concurrent use-after-free
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows PrintWorkflowUserSvc allows local users to elevate privileges by racing concurrent SetPrintTicket calls. The CWorkflowSession::SetPrintTicket method can access a previously freed heap allocation when multiple MTA threads enter it concurrently. Low-privilege access and precise thread timing are required; successful exploitation grants elevated control over data and service operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
