Local privilege escalation
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Elevation of privilege in Microsoft Windows ReFS before build 10.0.26100.2605 allows local users to gain elevated privileges. Microsoft identifies an incorrect conversion between numeric types, but has not published the affected ReFS code locus or untrusted value being converted. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, needs no user interaction, and can grant control beyond the vulnerable ReFS component.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
