CVE-2024-49087

Physical process-heap disclosure via malicious USB

Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Improper input validation in the Windows Mobile Broadband Driver allows physically proximate attackers to disclose process-heap memory. Microsoft states that exploitation exposes initialized or uninitialized process-heap memory but does not identify the driver routine or malformed field that is validated incorrectly. Exploitation requires physical access to connect a malicious USB device; no privileges or user interaction are required, and the reported consequence is limited to confidentiality.
