Authenticated code execution via heap buffer overflow
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows IP Routing Management Snapin allows remote authenticated users to execute code over a network. Microsoft identifies the flaw as a heap-based buffer overflow but has not published the affected function, input field, or memory-copy operation. A low-privileged account and network access are required; successful exploitation can run code in the affected process and compromise data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
