CVE-2024-49021

Code execution via undisclosed use-after-free

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

Use-after-free in affected Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP3 through 2022 builds allows local users to execute arbitrary code. Microsoft identifies stale-memory use but has not published the affected component, freed object's reuse path, or triggering input operation. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction; success grants code execution in the affected process context.
