Data disclosure and setting changes via debug port
Published Nov 14, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024
Improper physical access control in Baxter Life2000 Ventilation System 06.08.00.00 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to alter settings. The serial interface leaves its debug port enabled by default and exchanges unencrypted messages without restricting unauthorized access. Physical access to an unattended ventilator is required; transmitted commands can expose device data, change therapy settings, or disrupt life-supporting air delivery.
