CVE-2024-48963Network attack vector

Command execution via shell-interpreted Composer path

Published Oct 23, 2024 · Updated Oct 24, 2024

OS command injection in Snyk CLI before 1.1294.0 allows attackers to execute commands when an untrusted PHP project is scanned. The PHP plugin constructed a PHP Composer invocation containing the current project path and passed that string to a shell-executing child-process API without separating arguments. Execution requires a user or automation to run snyk test inside an attacker-controlled project, and injected commands inherit that process's privileges.
