Unauthenticated ephemeral-key forgery via weak gallery secret
Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026
Weak key generation in Piwigo 14.0.0 through 14.5.0 allows remote attackers to forge ephemeral keys by brute-forcing the gallery secret. During installation, install.php stores secret_key as MD5(MySQL RAND()), limiting it to 30 bits and making CSRF tokens a verification oracle. No account or user interaction is required, but auto-login and session tokens also incorporate user-specific secrets, limiting the demonstrated consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
