Session reuse via premature logout display
Published Oct 22, 2024 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Insufficient session expiration in Umbraco CMS allows attackers to reuse a Backoffice session for about 30 seconds after logout. The Backoffice renders its timeout logout page before the server invalidates the session, leaving the existing session credential authorized. Exploitation requires user interaction and access to that credential; resulting access is limited to the brief expiration gap.
