CVE-2024-48915Network attack vector

Forged responses via incomplete certificate validation

Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024

Improper certificate validation in AstroX Network Agent Dart before 1.0.0-dev.29 allows remote attackers to accept forged canister responses. The _checkDelegation function accepts delegated certificates without comparing canister_ranges, while certificate verification omits the /time freshness check. Exploitation requires a signed subnet response reaching a consuming app; acceptance permits cross-subnet response forgery or replay of stale certificates.
