SYSTEM code execution via sensitive-folder access controls
Published Oct 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Improper access control in Trend Micro Deep Security Agent 20 before 20.0.1-17380 allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The Anti-Malware Solution Platform applies insufficient access controls to a sensitive folder, enabling arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on an affected Windows host and can fully compromise that host.
