CVE-2024-48884Network attack vector

Arbitrary file writes and folder deletion via traversal

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2026

Path traversal in Fortinet FortiManager, FortiOS, FortiProxy, and FortiManager Cloud allows remote attackers to write files or delete folders. The Security Fabric interface accepts attacker-controlled pathnames without confining resolution to an authorized directory; Fortinet has not named the affected routine. File writes require authenticated access to that interface and port, while an unauthenticated request can delete an arbitrary folder.
