CVE-2024-4886Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Subscriber-level private-post commenting via unchecked object IDs

Published Jun 5, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025

IDOR in BuddyBoss Platform before 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to add comments to private activity posts. The new_activity_comment AJAX action accepts attacker-controlled comment_id and form_id values without verifying access to the referenced private post. Subscriber-level access and a valid action nonce are sufficient, and the bounded impact is unauthorized creation of comments rather than disclosure or service interruption.
