Unauthenticated code execution via malformed PCX images
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 15, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in BlackBerry QNX SDP 7.0, 7.1, and 8.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted PCX images. The PCX decoder writes image data outside its intended buffer, but BlackBerry has not disclosed the responsible routine or malformed field. Exploitation requires a codec-using process to decode attacker-controlled PCX data; resulting code runs with that process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
