CVE-2024-48845Network attack vector

Account compromise via weak password-reset rules

Published Dec 5, 2024 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Weak password requirements in ABB ASPECT 3.07.02 and earlier allow remote attackers to retain weak passwords after account resets. ABB has not published the reset handler or the exact validation checks it omits; the reset workflow accepts passwords below the intended strength. Reachability requires network access to an ASPECT interface, and weak administrative credentials enable unauthorized administrative or application access.
