CVE-2024-48842

Device compromise via hard-coded credentials

Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Hard-coded credentials in ABB FLXeon 9.3.5 and earlier allow physically proximate attackers with low privileges to gain unauthorized device access. ABB has not published which account, interface, or credential storage locus contains the hard-coded credential, nor the operations it authorizes. Exploitation requires physical access, high-complexity conditions, an existing low-privilege foothold, and a misconfigured deployment; ABB reports device takeover and arbitrary code execution only for the combined advisory vulnerability set.
