Pre-authentication command execution via unchecked UDP arguments
Published Oct 28, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024
OS command injection in Tenda AC7 Firmware 15.03.06.44 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code over the local network. A request to /goform/ate starts TendaAte, which opens UDP port 7329; ate_cmd_process passes an unchecked ifconfig argument to ate_ifconfig_set. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must reach the router's local network; successful exploitation executes commands with the firmware service's privileges.
