CVE-2024-48791Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Firmware disclosure via unauthenticated update downloads

Published Oct 14, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025

Missing access control in Plug n Play Camera 5.5.1 allows remote attackers to download unreleased device firmware over HTTP. The app's BuildConfig exposes firmware_link and module_link values that reconstruct unauthenticated requests to AutoUpgrade metadata, whose URLs return firmware files directly. No account or device identifier is required; disclosure is limited to firmware images and metadata, enabling offline analysis but not installation on cameras.
