Firmware disclosure via unauthenticated update bucket
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Revic Optics Revic Ops 1.12.5 allows remote attackers to download unreleased device firmware. UpdateActivity embeds internal and external Amazon S3 manifest URLs, while the firmware bucket returns the manifests and referenced binaries without authenticating the request. Network access alone is sufficient to retrieve eight reported firmware images for offline analysis, with no demonstrated ability to alter devices.
