Firmware disclosure via unauthenticated update manifest
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Missing authentication in Almando Play APP 1.8.2 allows remote attackers to download firmware from the public update server. The DownloadManager class embeds manifest URLs, and the server returns firmware metadata and direct download links without device or user authentication. Network access to the update endpoint is sufficient to retrieve firmware for offline analysis; no ability to alter hosted firmware is established.
