Firmware and serial-number disclosure via unauthenticated indexes
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Incorrect authorization in BURG-WÄCHTER KG KeyApp 4.5.0 allows remote attackers to download firmware and serial-number ranges via update requests. The firmware-update client embeds predictable HTTPS index URLs, while the transfer server returns firmware lists and image links without credentials or device authorization. Network access to the transfer service is sufficient to retrieve firmware and serial-number ranges; no firmware modification is demonstrated.
