Firmware disclosure via unauthenticated update manifest
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Missing access control in almando control firmware 2.3.1 allows remote attackers to download firmware from the update server. DownloadManager embeds the URL of a JSON update manifest, and the server returns that manifest without authentication, exposing direct firmware download links. No account or user interaction is required; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized firmware disclosure, not server modification or update deployment.
