CVE-2024-48766Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file disclosure via log path traversal

Published May 13, 2025 · Updated May 13, 2025

Path traversal in NetAlertX 24.7.18 before 24.10.12 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the web interface. The components/logs.php handler trusts the filePath value in attacker-supplied items JSON and applies flawed strpos-based validation; clients that ignore its redirect still receive the requested file. No authentication is required, and any file readable by the service account can be disclosed.
