CVE-2024-48712Public exploit

Router crash via unchecked JSON name length

Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Oct 16, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in TP-Link TL-WDR7660 Firmware 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via HTTP. The rtRuleJsonToBin function accepts an oversized name value in a reboot_timer JSON object without checking its length, overwriting stack memory. A user with access to the local management interface and a valid session token can make the system crash and remove the submitted rule.
