Authenticated command execution via password reset injection
Published Sep 2, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Command injection in Wavlink AC1200 firmware M32A3_V1410_230602 and M32A3_V1410_240222 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands. The set_sys_adm function reads the newpass field, rejects only semicolons, interpolates the value with sprintf into an echo command, and passes it directly to system. A valid router administration session is required; a crafted password runs arbitrary shell commands with the privileges of adm.cgi.
