Firmware disclosure via missing device authorization
Published Oct 24, 2024 · Updated Oct 24, 2024
Incorrect authorization in IVYIOT IVY Smart 4.5.0 allows attackers to download device firmware through the update API. The firmware-download endpoint accepts a valid physical device ID combined with arbitrary user identity values because the server does not verify that the requester is authorized for that device. A registered account and a real compatible device ID are required; the consequence is complete firmware disclosure for offline analysis of its code and data.
