CVE-2024-4843Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via task assignment IDOR

Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Authorization bypass in Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator before 5.10 Service Pack 1 Update 2 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges. Client task and client task assignment operations trust user-controlled object references without enforcing authorization, allowing a least-privileged account to manipulate protected tasks and assignments. Exploitation requires least-privileged console access and interaction with a crafted request; the bounded impact is unauthorized task or assignment modification.
