CVE-2024-48420Public exploit

Management web-server crash via oversized configuration value

Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Buffer overflow in Edimax BR-6476AC firmware 1.06 allows remote attackers to crash its management web server via a crafted configuration value. The first request stores an oversized value in device configuration, and /goform/getWifiBasic then reads it without enforcing the input parameter's length, overflowing a buffer. Direct exploitation requires management-interface access; absent CSRF defenses also expose the two-request sequence, while arbitrary command execution remains an unverified worst-case outcome.
