Root command execution via DDNS parameter injection
Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Command injection in Edimax BR-6476AC firmware 1.06 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary root shell commands via the web interface. The /goform/fromSetDDNS handler fails to neutralize special characters in user-supplied DDNS parameters before using them in shell commands. The interface is reachable from an adjacent network without authentication, and absent anti-CSRF protection also permits remote triggering through a crafted web request.
